"Salem" Defined

Reverend Dwight Hein:
The Rev. Dwight Hein grew up Coopersburg, PA in southern Lehigh County. He graduated from Southern Lehigh High School in 1986 and has a BA in Sociology from Moravian College. He was Ministerial Intern at Bethany Presbyterian Church from Oct. 1991 to May 1994. He graduated from Lancaster Theological Seminary in May 1994. He first pastorate was at Emmanuel United Church of Christ in Sandusky, Ohio where he served for 8 years.

He has been pastor of Salem UCC since 2002. He is also involved with the Palmyra Area Cooperating Churches (PACC) which is responsible for such local outreach ministries as the Phoenix Youth Center, Interfaith Manor - a low cost senior living facility, Palmyra Area Counseling Center, and the area CROP Walk for Hunger. He is also vice-president of the UCC Lebanon Association Ministerium. He serves on the alumni council at Lancaster Seminary.

Dwight is involved in numerous denominational, ecumenical and outreach activities; is married to Kelly (Snyder) Hein a radiologic technologist at Good Samaritan Hospital and has one son, Matthew age 5.

Pastor Dwight enjoys spending time with his family, reading, playing the piano, guitar and music composition, and playing golf and many other sports.
