Exile, Return & Waiting on God's Promises

Exile could have been the end of Israel's story — displaced, defeated, far from the Temple. Instead, Jeremiah tells the exiles to build houses, plant gardens, and seek the peace of Babylon, even while promising a future return. Ezra and Nehemiah later show what faithful rebuilding looks like after a long wait. Exile teaches that God's promises can outlast the delay, even a delay of generations.
