Kingdom, Kingship & the Messianic Hope
Saul, David, and Solomon each show both the promise and the limits of human kingship — even David, 'a man after God's own heart,' fails badly. Yet God's covenant with David (2 Samuel 7) promises a throne established forever, a promise no human king could fulfill on his own. Every failed and faithful king in Israel's history is a signpost pointing toward the Messiah still to come.

2 Samuel 7:16

Discussion Questions
- Where have you looked to a human leader, achievement, or relationship to give you what only God can give?
- How does David's honesty about his own failure (Psalm 51) model something you need to practice?
Call to Action
