1 Corinthians 10:13
St. Paul reminds the Corinthians that no temptation has seized them except what is common to humanity, and that God is faithful—He will not allow them to be tempted beyond what they can bear, but will provide a way out so they can endure it. This powerful promise speaks directly into our daily struggles. Every person faces temptation, and recognizing its universality helps us avoid the lie that we are uniquely weak or isolated in our battles. What makes this passage extraordinary is not just the assurance that our trials are manageable, but the revelation of God's character: He is faithful even when we feel frail. God does not abandon us in the moment of testing; instead, He actively engineers an escape route, a path of resistance that we might not see until we look for it. This means temptation is never a trap without an exit. Our responsibility is to trust God's faithfulness enough to seek that way out rather than convincing ourselves we are cornered. The way of escape might be a Scripture verse that suddenly comes to mind, a phone call to an accountability partner, a physical removal from the situation, or a decisive turn toward prayer. Temptation loses its power when we remember we are not fighting alone and that victory is genuinely possible through God's provision. Every temptation is an invitation to experience God's faithfulness afresh.
